This book, as far as text books go, was easy to follow and read. As a plus, the chapters were in line with the DSM-5 fifth edition, which I also using for my class, so that was an added bonus. Not a lot of people are going to be purchasing this for a bit of "everyday reading", but if you are looking for something to supplement your classroom text or are just interested in Abnormal Psychology, I really enjoyed this book. It made an effort to draw you into the text my giving examples of situations and people that have REAL examples of the disorders that were going to be discussed in each chapter and the language used wasn't overly scientific to the point that your head wanted to explode. I found it informative and down to earth, both a plus in my world!Product details

I absolutely love renting from ! Textbooks for college and so expensive and this is so convenient when I buy everything off of anyway! This book was such a wonderful price and in great shape! Very impressed!
I was very impressed by the wealth of knowledge with these pages! I learned so much about human behavior this term and this book was an amazing tool. It was required reading for my Abnormal psych class but, given that Psychology is my major, I really enjoyed it ) I was endlessly referencing this book; so I became very familiar with it's contents. Great book. Highly recommend this author.
This was a fun class, and i enjoyed the textbook. Its a class i was not sure what i expected to learn. The book really goes into depth about different abnormal mental condition. Schizophrenia, sleep disorders, multiple personality, etc. this really opened my eyes to the amount of mental behavioral conditions we have in the world around us. I originally rented this book since it was expensive... a year later i found it on for WAY WAY less then was so excited to purchase it to add to my bookshelf. ,
Little bit broken and bent and stained. BUT good enough quality especially for the price. It’s not going to fall apart and will get the job done. Plus it got to me 12 hours after ordering.
When i received this book, I realized it is not the one I needed. I needed the version with the DSM-5 update. I also did not like that because the book was lose leaf, they sent it in a binder, but the binder was broken and the rings didn't close all the way, which didn't make much sense to me considering the expensive price of the book. However, the seller was very good about issuing my refund in a timely manner once I sent it back. I would recommend buying from them based on their excellent customer service.
I ordered the book, wish I would have used it more towards the end. I didn't need it most of the quarter thanks to quiz let. There is stuff in the book that isn't online.
I know there are a few professional critiques of the author's coverage, but the textbook has enough modern references and enough explanations abut historical treatment of mental illness to be both relevant to life today, and to do justice to the ground covered by the experts in the field. For a 200-level college class, I felt this was appropriate complexity of information. Our instructor also required the online course membership, so I got the extra video clips (some a bit dated) and quizzes that were directly related to the subject matter. Good enough textbook that I'll plan to keep it for my psych rotation in nursing school, just for reference.
